Doorway is a registered charity set up in 1997 to provide a range of services to advise and support young people aged 16-25 who are rough sleeping or threatened with homelessness in the County of Warwickshire. Initially we were located in Bedworth and moved to Nuneaton to premises which have enabled us to provide a Drop-in Centre. This has also meant that we can develop other projects which can be delivered in the centre, such as Jobwise and Lifewise. We have a register of private landlords who rent their accommodation through us and in return we provide support to clients in their accommodation.
We aim to help young people to overcome deprivation and aid them to develop skills to live independently successfully. Doorway works in areas of Warwickshire which are ranked within the top 10% most deprived nationally in the Government’s Index of Multiple Deprivation 2015. In Nuneaton & Bedworth this includes six wards which experience multiple-domain deprivation associated with income, employment, housing, health, educational attainment and crime.
